IOS7
Just when you thought it couldn't get any fancier, it does! With the release of IOS7 in September, many have turned their attention on Apple's attempts to upgrade itself to the standards of Android and Windows. With IOS7 and the new iPhone5s, Apple looks to be the host of some exciting events this fall. Lets take a look at each of these new releases.
With Android already far ahead in the operating system game with the likes of the GalaxyS4, Apple has definitely fallen behind its competition. With the release of IOS7, Apple attempts to catch up with its rivals. The official preview video of IOS7 makes this new update seem quite smooth. It mentions that the Apple team has added features previously only accessible by jailbreaking the device. In addition, for iPhones 4S and up, the new and improved Siri now comes with a male voice option and sounds better than ever. There is not an official release date yet; the Apple website simply says: "Fall, 2013." All in all, while the new update doesn't quite overtake Android, it looks to be a nice, smooth new look to the iDevices.
In addition to the release of IOS7, there are rumors of the iPhone5S and even the iPhone6. These are only rumors as of right now, though it's widely believed that iPhone5S will be released this fall. Now, personally, I can't think of another feature they would add to make this phone stand out, but Apple might have found one; there are rumors that, instead of just white and black casing options, the new phones will come in gold and blue as well. It most likely won't be real gold, however, it looks to be a nice effect. Iphone5S will most likely run IOS7 as well.
These new Apple developments look to be quite nice and make for an exciting fall!

Chemical weapons in syria
President Obama announced that the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime has been confirmed. U.S. commanders are now weighing options on how to respond with military action. The chemical attack occurred at the end of August, killing over a thousand women and children as part of the regime’s on going efforts to maintain power. Britain and France have signed on to support the U.S. in a strike. This would be very similar in nature to the action taken in Libya in 2011, which led to the downfall of Muammar Gaddafi’s government there.
Syria has been embroiled in civil war since 2011, when protests began that demanded an end to the rule of President Bashar al-Assad. This quickly led to a full scale war between the government and the Free Syrian Army. Over 100,000 people have been killed already in the war, half of which are civilians. Additionally, 4 million Syrians have been displaced within the country.
The international community has been calling for action for a long time due to widespread reports of torture and other war crimes being committed in the war. The problem was that no countries were willing to intervene. Now that chemical weapons have definitely been used, the United States is much more concerned. The military says that airstrikes on Syrian chemical facilities are days away.

Aim For fame, and tuition
COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY-On August 25th, a freshman in college, Markus Burdan, got lucky. Wether it was luck or skill, Colorado State University offered to pay for his freshman year tuition if he could make a basket from half-court. Markus made it on his first try. His fellow students and friends were ecstatic The basketball coach and a few other teachers who had offered to chip in for his tuition had to pay up.
BRANDON UNIVERSITY-The same thing happened to a student at Brandon University. When a young student gets his tuition payed for by a professor, Gil Cheung. This generous teacher was picked out of the stands, understanding that if he made the shot, he would pay for a students tuition. He was given three tries. He made the shot on the second.
“I was very impressed with knowing that I could make that shot, especially in a suit and tie,” says Cheung.
Whether luck or skill, these amazing moments changed the lives of those students. Watch the shots in the video below!

Well, unfortunately, ignoring this article isn't helping seals worldwide, even if you are avoiding being sad. Please, keep reading, and learn to help. I promise, good karma will come.
Every year, thousands of seals are brutally shot or clubbed for their fur. Not only is this heart wrenching, but only baby seals are killed. The fur that belongs to young seal pups is much more valuable than that of full grown seals. Many pups who are killed haven't gone for their first swim, or eaten their first meal, leaving them helpless. After their fur is taken off their bodies, the seal pups' carcasses are typically left on the ice to rot. Many Canadians oppose this, however, much of their tax dollars are spent on killing innocent and helpless animals. Hopefully, by now, you've realized that it's not right.
